Dr. Krishanshu Tewari (Information)

Dr. Krishnansu Sujata Tewari, is the Philip J DiSaia, MD Endowed Chair in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of California, Irvine. His clinical focus encompasses a broad range of gynecologic conditions, including ovarian carcinoma, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancers, with a particular interest in cytoreductive surgery for advanced gynecologic cancers and da Vinci® robot-assisted surgery.

Pioneering in his field, Dr. Tewari was the first physician at UC Irvine Medical Center to perform robot-assisted surgery for endometrial and cervical cancer and UC Irvine’s first single-incision laparoscopic hysterectomy. Besides his clinical pursuits, he is actively involved in research, serving as the Director of Research in Gynecologic Oncology, with his work being substantially supported by the National Institutes of Health. He has led several prominent practice-changing clinical trials, such as the GOG 240.
